A quiet statement with cultural depth. The “Xwede” embroidery sits clean on the front, while the Dingir symbol on the back adds a subtle layer of meaning.

Xwede means “God” in Kurmanji (often called Ezdiki by many Yazidis), an Indo-Iranian language with roots going back many centuries in regions of eastern Anatolia and northern Mesopotamia, which Yazidis adopted over time and often refer to as Ezdiki to emphasize their distinct identity. Little reminder: speaking the same language does not define ethnicity — in recent years, Yazidis have increasingly been socially and politically pressured to take a stance and align with Kurdification narratives.

Dingir originates from ancient Mesopotamia, where it was used in Sumerian cuneiform to signify the divine.
